Almudena Cáceres

Almudena Caceres was born in Guadalajara, Spain, and began singing at the age of four.  From a family of Flamenco singers, she grew up with Flamenco as part of her life.  Her great-grandfather, the famous Flamenco singer “Epifanio”, passed down traditional songs to her mother and uncle, who sang with Almudena throughout her childhood and early youth.  One of her other great-grandfathers was the first cousin of the famous Sara Montiel.

As a child, Almudena sang everything from Spanish Folklore and “Coplas” to Flamenco throughout her native province of Guadalajara and Castilla la Mancha.  She loved everything to do with singing and performing, and was a much loved feature in local Festivals and Events.

At ten years of age, Almudena began formal voice studies at the conservatory of Guadalajara, and at sixteen began to study Flamenco singing under the tutelage of Maestro Juan Madrid, where she learned the subtleties and cadence for accompanying Flamenco dance.

Almudena has toured and performed as a soloist throughout Spain, Europe, and Asia with various Flamenco companies, and has collaborated as chorus on several musical recordings.  She was featured at “Parque España” in Ugata, Japan as a singer and actress.

Among the many Spanish Ballets she has toured with are Lurdes Soto and the Flamenco Ballet of Susana Lupianez (La Lupi), Artistic Director of the Flamenco Tablao “El Tablao”, of the famous bullfighter Javier Conde and the Flamenco singer Estrella Morente, daughter of the great Flamenco singer Enrique Morente.

Almudena was a finalist in the major contest of “Copla” singing, “Primer Concurso de Copla Marife de Triana.”  She has appeared for many years in many Flamenco festivals throughout Andalucia, including Flamenco Festival Alhaurin de la Torre in Malaga, sharing the stage with such great Flamenco stars as Fosforito, Chocolate, El Cigala, Capullo de Jerez, José Mercé, Aurora Vargas and Arcangel.
